Newspaper ads from the Commonwealth Bank, NAB and Westpac.

Last week saw a change in direction in Commonwealth Bank’s newspaper advertising when they launched a full-page advertisement promoting their determination to provide the best customer service in Australia. This week, CommBank ran another full-page ad in Sunday papers across the nation which not only reiterates this position but also provides more details of the type of service consumers can expect.

Westpac also promoted their customer service credentials with a series of consecutive RHS press ads. Taking advantage of newspapers ability to on a local level with the community, Westpac tailored this campaign to inform readers about local bank managers residing in key suburbs in Hobart. The end result is a simple, yet creative way to communicate that this bank has a personal relationship with its customers.

Interest rates were on the rise again last week, and both NAB and Westpac ran full-page ads in metropolitan newspapers using the rate rise to attack their competitors and tempt new customers.
