An ad by Showpony Advertising for Coopers Brewery has been announced as the December/January winner of the Could Be a Caxton competition, established by the Caxton Committee and supported by The Newspaper Works to recognise and showcase great creativity on a bi-monthly basis.
Agency: Showpony Advertising
Client: Coopers Brewery
Creative Director: Parris Mesidis
Art Director: Parris Mesidis, Joel van der Knaap
Writer: Andy Scott, Andrew Keble
Nancy Hartley, Joint Creative Director of SapientNitro and the judge of the December/January competition, said: “The Coopers Ultralight ad wins this round for me. Simple, clear and it made me smile. Highly commended goes to Oreo for Santa's Place Mat. Neat little interactive newspaper idea, spot on for the brand. And I was nearly swayed by The Boxing Day Test ad for TAC - one of the better topical ads in the mix. Maybe I should have been judging with a Coopers Ultralight in hand, rather than a sav blanc.â€
Ben Welsh – Executive Creative Director, M&C Saatchi Sydney
Ron Mather – Founder, It's The Thought Melbourne
Julia Elton-Bott – Art Director, Marketforce Perth
Shaun Branagan – Creative Director, AdPartners Sydney
Chris Pearce – Copywriter, Clemenger Sydney.
