3D newspaper section

Fairfax and Harvey Norman have embarked on an Australian media first, publishing dedicated sections of the Sun-Herald in 3D to mark the 2010 State of Origin series, which will also be broadcasted in 3D.

The 3D sections appeared as a 4-page lift out inside the newspaper as well as a 4-page cover wrap on the outside of the paper. 3D glasses were available to all readers when they purchased a copy of The Sun-Herald.

Flick through the cover wrap and lift-out below to see how it appeared in papers. If you have old style red and blue glasses, put them on - you'll be able to see the 3D effects over your monitor.

The Sydney Morning Herald has continued with the 3D theme, publishing a full page of three- dimensional content each day counting down to the kick-off on Wednesday night.

Harvey Norman is sponsoring the 3D sections, which extends their involvement with the State of Origin broadcast. Gerry Harvey, Executive Chairman of Harvey Norman, said "Harvey  Norman has always been at the cutting edge of innovation, so we were delighted to partner with Fairfax Media on this project. The 3D sections are an engaging and immersive experience and give readers a taste of the upcoming State of Origin series in a new and exciting way."

Fairfax Media's Fairfax 360 innovation team in conjunction with Fairfax Integrated Solutions are behind the project, which is a media first for Australia.
